Here is a full body rig that I have created to practice and experiment new rigging technic.
It has been done in Maya. The lighting and rendering have been done using Arnold.
It's been fun and challenging to create systems for the hip accessories that allows for both Fk and dynamic bones options. I also wanted to give the animator the liberty to animate more manually if it ever was necessary so I added an option to enable/disable the "clip proof" option as I call it that, when enable, will move all the accessories accordingly to avoid clipping with the character.
This rig includes:
- Intuitive reverse foot
- Quadruped leg system
- Ik/Fk Switch
- Variety of parent options for Ik leg/arm, hip and elbow
- "Clip proof" system for all the hip accessories
- Fk to dynamic bones system switch for all hip accessories
- Roll forearms and legs
- Smooth snap to hand weapons system
- Automated chest bones for organic deformation
- No blendshapes
- Game/Engine ready
